The Palestinian Authority’s Policy of Denormalization

editor 23 June 2018

By Khaled Abu Toameh.. The Palestinian leadership’s rejection of normalized relations with Israel that were established in 1993 with the Oslo Exchange of Letters between PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat and Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, and the PLO’s subsequent support for the global Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign have created an economic void. Holy only to Jews

editor 23 June 2018

By Nadav Shragai.. “The Western Wall doesn’t belong to the Jews alone,” Labor party leader Avi Gabbay said last week (June 11, 2018) before rushing to walk it back. But maybe we should thank him. The party leader gave us a chance to address another perversion of history, this one intentional – the Palestinian Islamization of the Western Wall – the holy site they long for as one of the walls of Al-Aqsa compound – by categorically denying any Jewish ties to it, just like they do with the Temple Mount and Jerusalem as a whole. Speech by the UK Foreign Secretary to the UN Human Rights Council

editor 20 June 2018

By Foreign & Commonwealth Office and The Rt Hon Boris Johnson MP.. Your Excellencies, Ladies and gentlemen, I want to begin on behalf of the UK by thanking High Commissioner Hussein for his service and for his tireless efforts for speaking up for human rights around the world. And I’m delighted to be here because, at its best, this Council has shone a spotlight on appalling violations of human rights in specific countries – as we’ve just heard – and given a voice to people who would otherwise have suffered in silence. Britain considers this Council to be part of the rules-based international system in which we believe and that we strive to protect. Gaza’s financial crisis is sending Hamas back into the arms of Iran

editor 16 June 2018

By Avi Issacharoff..  A special iftar feast was held in Gaza City last Thursday (June 7, 2018) at the end of the day’s Ramadan fast, marking the annual Quds (Jerusalem) Day — an event initiated by Iran in 1979 to express support for the Palestinians and oppose Zionism and Israel. During the event, dinner was served to families of killed and injured Gazans, in a manner similar to many other iftar meals. Nonetheless, what made Thursday’s (June 7, 2018) event different was the Iranian sponsorship: The event was marked and celebrated in order to send a message of appreciation and respect to Iran. It was paid for by the Tehran regime. [Photo top right: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei meeting in Tehran with Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip Ismail Haniyeh. Evil And Human Depravity – And Then There’s Hamas Too

editor 2 June 2018

By Melanie Phillips.. When confronted with absolute evil or the depths of human depravity, some of us experience a very particular kind of depression. It’s as if we just can’t cope with such a repudiation of humanity. Some experience it when exposed to the details of child sexual abuse. And some feel it over the libelous falsehoods hurled at Israel whenever it’s forced to defend itself against genocidal fanatics, as happened this week in the Hamas onslaught on the Gaza border fence. Inconvenient Truths About Gaza, Hamas and Israel’s Border

editor 23 May 2018

By SWC.. Why is there a border fence between Israel and Gaza?
Israel captured Gaza from the Egyptians during the 1967 Six-Day War. For decades, there were no border fences. Many Israelis shopped in Gaza and many Arabs worked in Israel proper. In 2005, then Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, unilaterally removed all military posts, as well as the thousands of Jews who had settled in the Gaza Strip, and gave Palestinians full control of the territory. [Photo top right: Why? | Credit: Wikimedia Commons].  (more…)

American UN Envoy: No Country Would Act With More Restraint Than Israel Has in Gaza

editor 21 May 2018

By Algemeiner Staff.. A day after several dozen Palestinian rioters were killed in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip as they violently tried to storm across the border into Israel, America’s UN envoy voiced a strong defense of the Jewish state at a UN Security Council meeting on Tuesday (May 15, 2018). Ambassador Nikki Haley said:

“Hamas has attacked the Kerem Shalom crossing, the biggest entry point in Gaza for fuel, food, and medical supplies. This is how determined they are to make the lives of the Palestinian people miserable. They light Molotov cocktails attached to kites on fire and attempt to fly them into Israel to cause as much destruction as possible. When asked yesterday why he put a swastika on his burning kite, the terrorist responded, ‘The Jews go crazy when you mention Hitler.’ This is what is endangering the people of Gaza. Make no mistake: Hamas is pleased with the results from yesterday. I ask my colleagues here in the Security Council, who among us would accept this type of activity on your border? No one would. No country in this chamber would act with more restraint than Israel has.” [Photo top right: US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley. Photo: Reuters / Lucas Jackson].

Hamas Co-Founder: Calling Gaza Riots ‘Peaceful Resistance’ Is ‘Deceiving the Public’

editor 21 May 2018

By Shiri Moshe.. A senior Hamas leader said on Sunday that recent Palestinian riots on the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip were backed by the Islamist group’s fighters and weapons. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Hamas co-founder Mahmoud al-Zahhar called allegations that the terrorist group was employing “peaceful resistance” against Israel “a clear terminological deception.” [Photo top right: Hamas co-founder Mahmoud Al-Zahhar speaks in an interview with Al-Jazeera on May 13, 2018. The Media War on Palestinian Agency

editor 18 May 2018

By Sohrab Ahmari.. Palestinian Arabs are human beings, which means they are possessed of free will, agency, and the natural capacity to reason like any other people. This basic, incontestable anthropological reality needs to be frequently restated today since our media and foreign-policy establishment has apparently concluded the opposite. The latest media assault on Palestinian agency came Monday (May 14, 2018), as Israelis celebrated the relocation of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv, while Palestinians attempted to infiltrate en masse the barrier fence that separates the Jewish state from the terrorist-run Gaza Strip to the south.
